Years ago we as a team asked ourselves…

If Evangel Church went away, would our community mourn?

and to be honest… our answer was, well… not exactly.

We’ve been a part of our community for the last 97 years. We have have led thousands of people to Jesus and we know that if Evangel Church closed it’s doors, many people would miss us. However, when we asked ourselves if our community would mourn the loss of our church we came to the conclusion that most people wouldn’t. We wanted that to change.

Through a time of deep prayer and fasting we asked the Lord, how can Evangel Church make an impact on the city of Columbus, GA. In those moments of prayer our team felt like the Lord was calling us to build. Not a bigger sanctuary, or another structure on our property, but a park. To create a space where anyone and everyone can have a safe place to play, a place to meet up with friends, a place to have meetings or study for school, and most importantly a space to build community.
